The Zone E Command of the Nigeria
Immigration Service, comprising 6 states within the South South and South East
of Nigeria led by Assistant Controller General of Immigration, A. W Gambo was at
the Government House, Owerri yesterday to rub minds with the state governor.
Speaking during the visit, the ACG thanked Governor Okorocha for
his magnanimity to the command and donation of vehicles amongst others. He
called for information on illegal immigrants in the
zone and called for high security consciousness amongst the populace.
In
his response, Governor Rochas Okorocha thanked the delegation for their visit
and described the immigration service as the mirror with which the outside
world sees Nigeria. He said Nigeria cannot be a dumping ground for criminals
and called for vigilance especially in this season of militancy and terrorism.
The governor was accompanied by his Principal Secretary, Dr Pascal
Obi; Deputy Chief Of Staff, Domestic and Internal Affairs, Mrs Ogechi Ololo;
Commissioner for Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and Internal Resources, Mr.
Ifeanyi Araraume Jnr. and other government functionaries.
